This signature fundraising event began as a way for the Red Cross to honor individuals who personify our mission of responding to emergencies. Everyday Heroes are all around us. People who one day find themselves living through extraordinary circumstances, reaching out to someone in need and doing remarkable things. Red Cross heroes have one thing in common: They have all exhibited exceptional acts of heroism through selfless bravery, dedication to humanitarian principles, or extraordinary public service. Red Cross heroes think not of themselves but of others, and they act voluntarily and impartially, often at their own risk. Awards will be given in various categories and are chosen from a panel of community leaders. Categories include: 911 Dispatch, Adult Good Samaritan, Animal Rescue, Biomedical, Educator, Fire, Law Enforcement, Medical Response, Military, Wally Bronner Community Spirit Award, Workplace Good Samaritan and Youth Good Samaritan. The Everyday Heroes Celebration will help the Saginaw County Red Cross Chapter raise funds for local use in the following program areas: Disaster & Emergency Assistance, Health & Safety training and education, and Military Communications. HOW CAN YOU HELP?
