A Tradition of Service

Founded in 1917, the Saginaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross has invested over 90 years keeping our community safe and helping families in times of crisis. As the need for Red Cross services continues to grow, we are committed to upholding our long-standing tradition of service to this community.

The Red Cross provides relief to local, national, and international disasters. We help people prepare for large-scale disasters and can respond quickly and effectively to sudden devastating occurrences. We provide immediate relief to affected families in the form of shelter, food and clothing. The same immediate response is carried out every day, provided to victims of smaller incidents like house fires.

The Saginaw County Chapter has been the key organization in delivering a range of critical services that directly affect the quality of life in our community.

On average, we train over 7,000 individuals annually in CPR and first aid and nearly 2,000 individuals are trained through our various aquatics programs. In addition, we have helped thousands of individuals and families over the years through our compassionate and comprehensive emergency services.

The Red Cross has a unique relationship with the members of the armed forces and their families. We have always provided communication in times of personal emergency, and can provide financial assistance in times of crisis.

In carrying out these activities for 90 years, we have relied on the volunteers who are the foundation of the Red Cross - and we actively encourage and develop this inspiring volunteer spirit. None of our programs could be carried out without dedicated volunteers, and their efforts have contributed to an improved quality of life in our community.
